Teaching Philosophy
I strive for my classroom to be a safe place for all students where they feel respected so that they can thrive academically, and take on an active role in their learning development.
Student-Centered Learning
I aspire to create a student-centered learning environment that is centered around the student. This allows students to grow and develop by emphasizing what the student needs, allowing their goals to be fulfilled. Students take on an active role in their learning and become more independent in the process.
Safe Space
I plan to create a safe learning environment in my classroom. Many students do not have a good home environment. I want school to be a safe place where they feel loved and accepted. Somewhere they look forward to coming to. I want my students to feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and ideas without the feeling that they are being judged.
Active Learning
I plan on creating an environment where students actively participate in their learning, instead of just listening to the teacher. Students must learn to collaborate with others, developing their ability to listen to others and think critically.
